You can find a wide variety of pre-made feeding trays online. If you don’t want to spend the time making your own, you can always make a hole in the bottom of the plywood cage for the bird’s head. You can also buy metal food and water containers and attach them to the sides of the cage. The wood that you put three inches above the food bowl prevents the squirrel from standing in it and makes clean up easier.

Next, cut a large piece of plywood that will serve as the back of the cage. Secure this piece to the existing frame using a power screwdriver.
