One way to get a squirrel out of your greenhouse is to make it more difficult for it to enter. Set up a separate greenhouse or lock the doors. Then you will be able to keep them out, and protect your plants from both birds and other pests. If you’re in a tight spot, you can use gravel to discourage them from digging. You can also use scent-based repellents to keep them away.

Distract squirrels by providing them with their own feeding area
If you have a greenhouse, one way to keep squirrels out is to provide them with their own feeding area. You can put chicken wire or netting around your plants to keep them from destroying your precious vegetables. You can also place an owl or hawk in the area to keep squirrels away. These predators will eat small animals, so squirrels won’t be tempted to gnaw on your plants or crops.
You can also place dry corncobs and sunflower seeds in your greenhouse to distract squirrels. Squirrels like food, so you can put out a feeder with a bowl of sunflower seeds or feed corn. Putting out food may attract other animals, so it’s best to make sure the squirrels have a place to eat, as well.
Plant companion plants
There are several ways to discourage a squirrel from entering your greenhouse, and some of them involve using companion plants. Marigolds, for example, can protect vegetables by emitting a foul-smelling gas from their roots. This chemical can only be released when the marigolds die and are tilled back into the soil. Other plants, such as squash, can provide shade and help deter weeds.
For an effective deterrent, plant fragrant flowers that discourage squirrels. Plants like marigolds, mint, and nasturtiums can repel the creatures from eating your crops. Planting crown imperial bulbs can help as well. These bulbs have a strong odor that will put off a squirrel, so make sure they’re far from any inhabited areas. Mulch, gravel, or aluminum foil can help mask the bulb’s smell.
Avoid obstacles
If you want to keep a garden, consider installing a squirrel-proof fence around your greenhouse. Squirrels love to visit yards and gardens, and can be disruptive and destructive. To discourage them from visiting, consider creating obstacles for them to avoid, such as CDs hanging from strings. Or, if you want to keep them in the greenhouse, consider planting food for them. If this does not work, consider using the CDs that are hanging on strings to provide them with a better option.
Repel squirrels with scent-based repellents
Scent-based repellents work by emitting an unpleasant odor. This smell is usually not appealing to the squirrel. The best way to deter them is to place crushed garlic near plants. The smell will fade after a few days. You can also put dog or human hair around bird feeders or the base of plants. Ultrasonic repellents emit sound waves when motion is detected and are effective in keeping squirrels away from your plants.
Peppermint oil is another effective scent-based repellent. It can be applied to plants, or you can also use peppermint oil. Make sure to reapply the spray after rain or snow. However, if you can’t find any sprays available in your area, you can also make your own. If you want to make your own scent-based repellent, you can mix peppermint oil with water and place it around your greenhouse.
How do you get a squirrel out of a greenhouse?
If the squirrel is inside the greenhouse you can try to shoo it out the door.
You can also try to trap it by baiting a cage with food and placing it near the door.
If the squirrel is climbing on the outside of the greenhouse you can try to scare it off by making loud noises or spraying it with water.
