Ivory soap
There are several ways to keep squirrels away from your bird feeder, including using Irish Spring Soap. This soap contains perfumes that deter a variety of pests, including mice and squirrels. However, you must be careful when applying this product to your feeder. Adding hot peppers to it may harm the birds. You should not use the soap directly on the bird, because it will attract other animals.
Squirrels are not likely to eat any of the soap, but if they do, you’ll need to use a repellent to keep them away. Irish Spring soap and Ivory soap are excellent repellents.
