RJ calls Hammy, a cookie-addicted hyperactive squirrel, “Hammy.” The other characters are Stella, a skunk with an attitude, and Ozzie, the Shakespearean opossum, played by Dwayne LaFontant. RJ also calls the hedge Steve and Stella. Ozzie was added to the comic strip after the film’s release. However, the tree that knows stuff does not appear in the movie.
The movie also stars Steve Carell as Hammy, a hyperactive red squirrel with a short attention span. He drinks a special energy drink called “Mach 6” and converts it into kinetic energy. RJ and Hammy become fast friends, despite their nutty, hyperactive nature. Despite their differences, they’re the same adorable characters and make RJ laugh every time they encounter each other.

In Over the Hedge, RJ, a raccoon, accidentally destroys a bear’s food cache. He must find and replace this food within a week, or he’ll die. To do so, he sets out on an adventure. Along the way, he meets new friends, including Verne the hyperactive squirrel, Hammy the cookie-addicted squirrel, and Stella the skunk with attitude.

Verne’s name, meanwhile, is a nod to William Shatner, who played Ozzy in the film. Hammy also does the Potty Dance and runs to do a wee-wee after waking up.
Verne accidentally points a finger at Hammy, who takes it very seriously. Meanwhile, Verne tries to persuade the squirrel to join the human family by using con artistry and caper movie antics. In the end, he and the woodland creatures successfully snag a wagon of Girl Scout-like cookies. The skunks are also responsible for Hammy’s addiction to food.
De-Pelter Turbo
